The bazaar is located in the suburb of Ashgabat in the residential area of Choghanly and is designed in a shape reminiscent of an Akhal-Teke carpet from the Akhal region, covering an area of 154 hectares.
  3. Travel to the Darvaza Gas Crater, a natural wonder in the sands of the Karakum Desert (260 km north of Ashgabat). En route, visit Erbent Village, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the lifestyle of local residents. Darvaza, which literally translates as “gates,” is surrounded by natural gas.
  4. In 1971, while drilling, geologists accidentally discovered an underground cave filled with natural gas. The drilling led to a collapse that created a large opening approximately 50–100 meters in diameter. To prevent a dangerous gas discharge, the gas was ignited. Although geologists expected the fire to burn out in a few days, it continues to burn to this day. Locals call the crater the “Door to Hell,” and its appearance at night is indeed eerie. The crater now has a diameter of about 60 meters and a depth of 20 meters.

  4. Visit the Kov-Ata Underground Lake, a unique natural wonder that could be called one of the marvels of the world. The cave with the lake is believed to have formed perhaps hundreds of thousands of years ago. For a long time, people have come here to seek healing from various ailments. The cave is located 100 kilometers from Ashgabat, and at a depth of 60 meters from the entrance, there is a lake emitting warm steam. A long, illuminated staircase of 350 steps leads down to the lake. The therapeutic water contains sulfur, iodine, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfate, aluminum, bromine, iron, and antimony – a total of 38 elements.
  5. Next, travel to the village of Geokdepe, where the Ashir Aga Private Horse Stable is located. The stable is home to 32 purebred Akhal-Teke horses. Enjoy an engaging presentation about this ancient horse breed, watch a demonstration in the arena, and even have the opportunity to ride a horse.
