Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival in Tbilisi & Transfer to Hotel

After landing at Tbilisi International Airport, once you collect your luggage and enter the Arrivals Hall, a Serene World representative will greet you holding a nameboard with your name. You transferred comfortably to your hotel.

Upon arrival, check in and enjoy a free day to rest, recover from your flight, and prepare for the upcoming journey through Georgia’s ancient landmarks and natural beauty.

Day 2

Day 2 - Tbilisi City Tour (Sacred Sites & Historical Landmarks)

After breakfast, meet your driver in the hotel lobby to start a full-day exploration of the Georgian capital - a city where ancient churches stand beside modern architecture.

Highlights of the day:

 

 Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba)

One of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, symbolizing modern Georgian religious revival.

• Metekhi Church & King Vakhtang Gorgasali Monument

A historic temple overlooking the river, tied to the founding legend of Tbilisi.

• Old Tbilisi Walking Tour

Walk through narrow streets and historical districts:

  • Sulphur Baths area
  • Meidan Square
  • The only mosque in Tbilisi
  • Sioni Cathedral
  • Anchiskhati Basilica (6th century — the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi)

Day 3

Day 3 - Mtskheta & Uplistsikhe Ancient Cave Town

After breakfast, depart for a day dedicated to Georgia’s earliest Christian centers and mysterious ancient structures.

 Jvari Monastery (6th - 7th century)

Jvari offers one of the most iconic and breathtaking views in Georgia. This is where Saint Nino raised the first Christian cross in the region.

• Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) 

The spiritual heart of Georgia. According to tradition, Christ’s robe is buried here. The cathedral is surrounded by fortress walls and decorated with stone carvings that reflect centuries of devotion and architectural mastery.

After exploring Mtskheta, continue west.

• Uplistsikhe Rock-Hewn Town

One of the oldest cave cities in Georgia, dating back to the Early Iron Age. Here you will see:

  • Stone-carved temples
  • Ancient living quarters
  • Secret tunnels
  • Pagan and Christian architectural elements
  • Panoramic views over the river valley

Its mysterious caves and silent halls bring visitors back thousands of years.

Day 4

Day 4 - Ananuri, Gudauri & Kazbegi (Gergeti Trinity Church)

After breakfast, begin your scenic journey north along the world-famous Georgian Military Highway.

• Jinvali Water Reservoir (Photo Stop)

A turquoise-blue lake surrounded by lush green mountains - perfect for photos.

• Ananuri Fortress Complex

A 17th-century stone fortress overlooking the reservoir. Explore its thick defensive walls, watchtowers, and beautifully preserved churches decorated with Georgian carvings.

• Gudauri - People’s Friendship Monument

An iconic viewpoint offering panoramic views of deep gorges and the dramatic Caucasus mountain range.

Continue to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), where you will switch to a 4×4 vehicle to ascend the mountain.

• Gergeti Trinity Church (2170 m altitude)

One of the most famous landmarks of Georgia, standing alone on a mountaintop under the towering peak of Mount Kazbegi (5047 m).
The view from the church is unforgettable -  a combination of spiritual silence and powerful nature.

Drive back to Tbilisi in the evening.

Day 5

Day 5 - Rabati Castle & Vardzia Cave Monastery → Transfer to Bakuriani

After breakfast, depart early for an unforgettable day exploring medieval architecture and one of Georgia’s greatest historical masterpieces. Today you will travel to the southern region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, known for its rich heritage and mountainous landscapes.

• Rabati Castle (Akhaltsikhe)

A beautifully restored medieval fortress complex blending Georgian, Ottoman, and European influences. Inside the walls you will find:

  • Stone towers and defensive walls
  • A historic church and mosque
  • Beautiful courtyards and gardens
  • Ornamental fountains

 

  • A small museum showcasing regional history

Rabati offers a vibrant journey through different eras and cultures.

Continue deeper into the mountains to reach one of Georgia’s most extraordinary sites.

• Vardzia Cave Monastery (12th century)

A vast monastic cave city carved into the cliffs during the reign of King Tamar.
Inside this remarkable site, you will explore:

  • Over 600 cave dwellings
  • Narrow rock tunnels
  • Storerooms and hidden chambers
  • The Church of the Dormition with stunning medieval frescoes
  • Panoramic views over the Mtkvari River valley

Vardzia is one of Georgia’s greatest historical treasures and a highlight of the entire trip.

Transfer to Bakuriani

After the Vardzia tour, continue through the forested mountains to the peaceful ski and spa resort of Bakuriani, located at 1700 meters above sea level.

Check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in the fresh mountain air.

Day 6

Day 6 — Departure from Bakuriani

After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred from Bakuriani to Tbilisi International Airport.

During the comfortable mountain-to-airport drive, enjoy the beautiful changing landscapes as you descend from the highlands back to the capital region.

We will ensure you arrive at the airport 3 hours before your flight.
